Baghdad: The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, directed a boycott of 78 candidates who violated his directives, accusing them of seeking to strengthen the corruption project.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sadr responded to a query regarding these candidates by stating that such individuals aim to weaken both the nation and the honorable sect. He accused them of opposing the reform project and attempting to bolster the corruption agenda by forming alliances with corrupt blocs focused solely on money and power, thereby neglecting the welfare of the people and the nation, which continue to face poverty and security issues.

Al-Sadr further emphasized the need to boycott these candidates, noting that some have openly declared their disobedience to the al-Sadr family due to their aversion to reform and the plight of the wounded nation.
