Jerusalem: Israeli Knesset security expelled MKs Ayman Odeh and Ofer Cassif from the hall on Monday for demanding recognition of the State of Palestine during US President Donald Trump's speech to the Israeli parliament. A live broadcast showed Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana asking security to remove Odeh and Cassif-both members of the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality in Israel-from the Knesset, which was swiftly and forcefully removed.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Israel's Channel 12 reported that Odeh and Cassif were removed from the hall because they held up a paper sign reading "Recognize Palestine." While the United States refuses to recognize the State of Palestine, 159 out of 193 countries have recognized Palestine as of last September.

Eleven countries recognized the State of Palestine last September during the United Nations General Assembly meetings, namely Britain, Canada, Australia, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium, Andorra, France, Malta, Monaco, and San Marino.
