Fire Extinguished in Baghdad’s Commercial Building


Baghdad: The Civil Defense Directorate announced extinguishing a fire that broke out in a commercial building in the Shorja area of Baghdad. The Director stated that the Civil Defense teams succeeded in controlling a fire that erupted inside a five-story commercial building. The upper floors of the building, from the third to the fifth, were utilized as clothing stores. The location of the fire was on Rashid Street, near the Safafeer Market in the central Shorja area of Baghdad. Fortunately, there were no human casualties reported, and material damage was kept to a minimum.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director highlighted the significant efforts made by the Civil Defense Directorate in controlling the fire. These efforts were crucial in preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent commercial buildings, thereby reducing potential losses. The firefighting and cooling operations have been completed successfully. An investigation has been initiated, and a forensic expert has been summoned to ascertain the cause of the fire.
