Baghdad: The President of Al-Mustansiriya University, Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the British University of Newcastle. This agreement is designed to bolster international cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise across various disciplines including higher education, scientific research, humanities, medicine, and law.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the signing ceremony was held at Newcastle University, attended by Professor Christopher Whitehead, Assistant to the University President, along with several academic figures from both institutions. The event highlighted the importance of developing sustainable partnerships between Iraqi and British educational institutions.
Al-Issawi conveyed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts with Newcastle University, noting that this memorandum strengthens Al-Mustansiriya University's commitment to engage with reputable international universities. He emphasized that such collaborations enhance the university's standing in education, research, and innovation.
The memorandum is seen as a practical step towards facilitating the exchange of professors and students, implementing joint research projects, and developing modern academic programs.
