Group Involved in Electoral Violations Arrested by Iraqi Security Forces


Baghdad: Detachments from the Iraqi National Security Service (INSS) and other security formations have arrested a group of individuals involved in electoral violations. These violations include the purchase of electoral cards and the tearing of photos of parliamentary election candidates in various areas.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Security Committee stated that these acts are punishable by law and represent an attempt to undermine the atmosphere of democratic competition. The committee emphasized that such activities negatively affect community peace and the security of the electoral environment.



The committee’s statement further highlighted that legal measures have been taken against those involved in the violations. Additionally, proactive intelligence and field efforts are ongoing to monitor and track any illegal activities or practices aimed at undermining the electoral process. This is part of a comprehensive proactive plan to ensure adherence to instructions and laws.



The Supreme Security Committee for Elections has reiterated its call for all citizens and concerned parties to respect electoral laws and guidelines. Furthermore, it urged the immediate reporting of any violations or transgressions through official channels.
