Damascus: The Syrian Ministry of Interior has announced the successful dismantling of an ISIS cell during a security operation conducted in the Damascus countryside.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry revealed that the General Intelligence Service, in collaboration with the Internal Security Command in the Damascus countryside governorate, executed a detailed security operation. This operation led to the dismantling of an ISIS cell that was active in one of the northern areas of the Damascus countryside.

The operation culminated in the arrest of one cell member, while two others were neutralized. One of the neutralized members attempted to detonate an explosive belt during the operation. Additionally, a collection of weapons and ammunition was seized. The arrested member has been handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation, and legal actions are anticipated following these investigations.
