Al-Sayhoud Advocates for Fair Political Competition in Upcoming Iraqi Elections


Baghdad: Secretary-General of the Generations Gathering, MP Mohammed Saadoun Al-Sayhoud, emphasized the importance of fair political competition among the forces and blocs participating in the upcoming elections. He urged parties to avoid smear campaigns that could harm national interests and undermine the democratic process in the country.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sayhoud, in a press statement today, highlighted the current need for all political parties to demonstrate national responsibility. He stressed the importance of respecting the will of the Iraqi people, who are hopeful for fair elections that accurately reflect their choices for reform, reconstruction, and development.



Al-Sayhoud further explained that competition should be based on realistic programs and visions, as this is the most effective way to consolidate democracy and build trust between citizens and political institutions. He called for an end to inflammatory rhetoric and urged adherence to electoral discourse ethics that honor Iraq’s history and the sacrifices of its people.



Additionally, Al-Sayhoud affirmed that the Generations Gathering and the Reconstruction and Development Coalition are committed to state principles, fair competition, and national work. They pledge to support the democratic process, enhance political stability, and contribute to building a prosperous Iraq worthy of its people and history.
