The FM Emphasizes the Important Role of British Companies in Supporting Iraq’s Economic Reconstruction


Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein has emphasized the significant role that British companies can play in aiding Iraq’s economic reconstruction, highlighting the necessity of their advanced expertise and technologies to bolster the Iraqi economy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hussein held discussions with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, focusing on the enhancement of bilateral relations between Baghdad and London across various sectors. The meeting also reviewed potential coordination on several regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The discussions included addressing challenges faced by British companies operating in Iraq, with both parties exploring possible measures to overcome these obstacles to reinforce their market presence. The British Ambassador acknowledged the Iraqi government’s cooperation and reiterated the United Kingdom’s interest in expanding economic and investment collaborations with Iraq.
