Baghdad: Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed that national security in Iraq is an integrated system involving all state institutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisor participated in the Capacity Development Program for Newly Appointed Ambassadors, organized by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Higher Institute for Leadership Training and Development.

The statement added that al-Araji delivered a lecture titled ‘Internal, Regional, and International Threats to Iraq’s National Security,’ in which he discussed the most significant challenges facing Iraq at various levels and the appropriate mechanisms for addressing them in line with the country’s supreme national interests.

During his lecture, al-Araji emphasized that ‘Iraq’s national security is an integrated framework that engages all state institutions domestically, as well as a diplomatic system that represents and defends Iraq’s security through official diplomatic channels.’ He further highlighted that ‘ambassadors play a vital role in reflecting Iraq’s vision and political orientation in the countries where they serve.’

Al-Araji also commended the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its efforts in training and preparing new ambassadors, stressing the importance of selecting them based on firm national principles to continue the legacy of their predecessors.
