Baghdad: The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has announced its readiness to conduct the upcoming elections, with all technical and logistical preparations completed for both special and general voting processes set for Tuesday, November 11. The announcement was made as the commission gears up to deliver timely and transparent election results.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Assistant Spokesperson for the Commission, Nebras Abu Soudah, stated that the IHEC has finalized all necessary preparations for the electoral process. The focus is currently on the final touches, including accrediting international and local observers and equipping polling centers and stations.

Abu Soudah highlighted that school buildings designated as polling centers have been received from the Ministry of Education. Preparations are underway in coordination with the Higher Security Committee for Elections, indicating that a significant portion of the election day procedures has been completed.

The preliminary results of the elections are set to be announced within 24 hours following the conclusion of the general voting process. Both special and general votes will be included in this announcement, adhering to the legally mandated timeframe. Abu Soudah explained that counting and sorting operations will be conducted using both manual and electronic systems. The electronic results will be transmitted to the National Center for verification against data stored on memory sticks from across Iraq.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the Commission will provide candidates with both printed and electronic copies of the results and ballot papers. This measure allows candidates to participate in the counting process and verify the votes recorded in their favor.
