Russian Ministry of Defense Claims Downing of 44 Ukrainian Drones in Southwestern Russia

Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the downing of 44 Ukrainian drones last night in the Bryansk and Rostov regions of southwestern Russia. The operation highlights the ongoing tensions and frequent aerial engagements between Russian and Ukrainian forces in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a press release that Kyiv's forces continue to target southwestern Russia with drones and missiles almost daily. The statement added that the Russian army is maintaining its advance on all fronts, indicating an ongoing strategic maneuver to counter these incursions.

The press release further noted that President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the necessity of expanding the military operation's scope. This expansion aims to push Kyiv's forces away from Russian territory, particularly areas now within range of Western missiles and weapons targeting Russia. The situation reflects a complex and evolving security landscape in the region.
