Diwaniyah: A security source in Diwaniyah province revealed that security forces have detained the brother of a member of parliament. The arrest was made on charges of purchasing voter registration cards to bolster his brother’s electoral prospects. The transactions were taking place in the Al-Hamza Al-Shawqi district, located south of Diwaniyah, with each card being bought for 50,000 dinars.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the security source did not disclose the identity of the MP involved. The incident underscores ongoing efforts by authorities to maintain electoral integrity in the region.
