Istanbul: The third session of the Palestinian National Dialogue Forum kicked off today, Friday, in Istanbul, with the participation of political and intellectual figures from Palestine and the diaspora. This year’s forum is being held under the theme “Unity of the Palestinian Position in the Face of Genocide and Displacement,” aiming to overcome divisions within the Palestinian political landscape regarding major issues affecting the Palestinian cause.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, approximately 220 prominent figures from Palestine and the diaspora are participating in the forum, in addition to representatives of Palestinian communities, institutions, and organizations worldwide. The organizers of the two-day forum have stated that discussions will focus on the Arab, Islamic, and international stances and their impact on the future of the Palestinian cause. Key topics include “organizing the Palestinian house and achieving national consensus,” and “the future of Palestinian decision-making and the role of Palestinians abroad.”
The second day’s sessions will feature two seminars addressing “An Independent National Vision for Managing Gaza” and “National Concerns and the Challenges of the Current Moment.” Furthermore, two additional sessions will cover “The World After the War of Extermination: Opportunities and Challenges,” and “Palestinian Representation: Between Monopoly and Freedom of Choice.”
At the conclusion of the forum, the organizers will hold a press conference to announce the final statement. The forum was launched in 2023 as a free and open initiative for dialogue among all segments of the Palestinian people, regardless of organizational affiliations, with the aim of developing common positions on the Palestinian cause.
This year’s forum in Istanbul is gaining significant momentum following two bloody years marked by genocide perpetrated by Israel against Palestinians, subsequent displacement campaigns in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, expansion of settlements, annexation attempts, and the repercussions of international initiatives. The American effort is aimed at achieving a ceasefire.
