Moscow: The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, engaged in a meeting with the Iraqi Ambassador in Moscow, focusing on enhancing cooperation with Russia in the maintenance of military aircraft and weapons. The meeting was attended by several leaders from the ministry.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense released a statement indicating that discussions were centered on cooperation and coordination for the upkeep of Russian aircraft, weapons, and other military equipment utilized by the Iraqi armed forces. The meeting aimed to address the maintenance requirements necessary for keeping the military apparatus operational.
During the meeting, relevant officers provided a detailed briefing on the current needs for spare parts and maintenance of aircraft, tanks, and armored vehicles. The involvement of Russian specialists was deemed necessary to ensure these military vehicles and equipment could be returned to active service.
The Iraqi Ambassador expressed his commitment to communicate these maintenance and cooperation needs to the Russian side, aiming to achieve practical solutions that would bolster the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces.
