Salah al-din: A force from the 9th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces' Northern and East Tigris Operations Command, supported by a force from the Iraqi Army's Salah al-Din Operations Command, conducted a large-scale security operation on Al-Aith Island in Salah al-Din Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Popular Mobilization Forces stated in a press release that the operation resulted in the discovery of a number of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and belt bombs belonging to ISIS terrorist cells.

The press release added that the site was fully secured by specialized engineering teams, who dismantled and safely handled the explosives, thus enhancing security and preventing their use in any potential terrorist activity.

It was explained that the operation is part of an ongoing plan to strengthen security and pursue remnants of the organization in rugged areas and remote islands.
