Nineveh: Spain has initiated discussions with the local government of Nineveh to aid in the rehabilitation of heritage sites, with a focus on the historic city of Mosul, which suffered extensive damage during the period of ISIS control. This announcement was made by Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Spanish Consul Carmen Magrinos, during her visit to Nineveh, emphasized the objective of incorporating Mosul into the World Heritage List. She highlighted the intention to enhance collaboration between Iraq and Spain in the area of cultural heritage preservation.
