Al-Sudani and Barzani Emphasize National Cooperation for Iraq’s Electoral Process

Dohuk: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Masoud Barzani have underscored the necessity for cooperation among all national forces to fulfill electoral obligations and advance reconstruction, development, and economic reform. This collaboration aims to meet citizens' aspirations and enhance living conditions and public services across Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's Media Office released a statement noting that Al-Sudani met with Barzani on Tuesday during the Middle East Peace and Security Forum (MEPS 2025). The event was organized by the American University in Dohuk, located in the Kurdistan Region.

The statement highlighted that during the meeting, both leaders exchanged congratulations on the successful conduct of elections and the completion of constitutional obligations. The elections saw broad public participation, reflecting a high level of trust in the political and democratic processes.

The meeting also included members of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, such as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi, Baha Al-Araji, Qusai Mahbouba, and Hazem Watan.
