Baghdad: The Coordination Framework concluded its periodic meeting on Monday evening at the Baghdad residence of Badr Organization Secretary-General Hadi al-Amiri, reaffirming its commitment to the criteria for selecting the Prime Minister. The meeting emphasized the activation of two previously established committees to further proceed with the selection process.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Framework’s media office reported that the meeting focused on discussing the essential criteria and requirements for the Prime Minister’s position. The discussions centered on the mechanism for candidate selection within the Framework, emphasizing clear national standards that prioritize competence, integrity, and the capability to manage the state and address upcoming challenges.

The meeting also involved reviewing a report submitted by the two leadership committees previously formed by the Framework. It was agreed that these committees would continue their work, completing tasks related to evaluating candidates and discussing national entitlements.

Additionally, the Coordination Framework expressed its approval of the formation of the National Political Council, viewing this as a positive step towards enhancing organized political action and unifying national perspectives. The Framework reiterated its commitment to constitutional requirements and the set timeframes for forming the next government, aiming to preserve political stability and respect the voters’ will.
