Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, engaged in discussions with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, focusing on economic and energy cooperation between the two nations. Their meeting also covered the revitalization of friendship committees and the enhancement of overall bilateral relations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Mandalawi’s media office released a statement highlighting his emphasis on the significance of balanced relations with both regional and international communities. He acknowledged the historical ties between Iraq and the United Kingdom, viewing them as a crucial platform for future cooperation.

Al-Mandalawi also emphasized the commitment of political leaders to adhere to constitutional deadlines and continue dialogues aimed at establishing a strong government. Such a government would aspire to meet citizens’ expectations, bolster stability, and facilitate development.

The British Ambassador, Irfan Siddiq, extended his congratulations on Iraq’s successful parliamentary elections, which he noted as a testament to the public’s confidence in the democratic process.
