Baghdad: The Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, received Thabit al-Abbasi, head of Azm Alliance and Minister of Defense in the caretaker government, at his office in Baghdad today.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Khazali’s office highlighted that during the meeting, al-Abbasi congratulated Sheikh al-Khazali on the success of the political process and the completion of the electoral process. He emphasized that the achieved results represent an important step towards consolidating the democratic experience.

Sheikh al-Khazali, in response, underscored the importance of expediting the formation of the new government based on clear criteria rooted in professionalism and integrity. He highlighted the necessity of forming a government capable of shouldering the responsibilities of the current stage, which is anticipated to positively impact political and service performance and enhance overall stability in the country.

Additionally, Sheikh al-Khazali stressed the urgency of allocating land plots to members of the Ministry of Defense. This measure is intended to acknowledge their sacrifices and service, ensuring they receive their full entitlements.
