Salah al-din: The National Commission for Accountability and Justice announced the arrest of individuals wanted by the Iraqi High Criminal Court in connection with the mass graves of the former regime in Salah al-Din Governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a joint force from the Iraqi National Security Service and the South Salah al-Din Security Directorate conducted security operations in Balad District. These operations resulted in the execution of arrest warrants against a number of individuals sought by the Iraqi High Criminal Court in Baghdad, which is focused on crimes against humanity.
The statement clarified that the operation was based on legal procedures against those accused in relation to the mass graves cases. This effort is part of a continued initiative to pursue those involved in crimes against the Iraqi people and to uphold principles of justice, accountability, and redress for the victims.
Security officials have confirmed their commitment to pursuing all those responsible for these crimes, ensuring that perpetrators face consequences, regardless of how much time has elapsed.
