Baghdad: Rayan al-Kaldani met with Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, to discuss the latest political developments and the path of constitutional entitlements in an atmosphere of brotherhood, affection, and mutual understanding.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of supporting the Iraqi political system and strengthening its stability in light of current challenges. They stressed the need to expedite the resolution of constitutional entitlements to ensure the smooth functioning of state institutions and achieve political balance.
The meeting also included discussions on the selection of the three presidencies, emphasizing the importance of political consensus in this context to serve the public interest and maintain the country’s political and institutional stability.
Additionally, the conversation addressed the formation of the next government, with both sides agreeing on the necessity of appointing a prime minister who meets the aspirations of the Iraqi people. They highlighted the importance of prioritizing the supreme national interest over private interests, thereby contributing to strengthening stability and advancing the reform process.
