Sheikh Humam Hamoudi: Preserving Islamic Identity and Combating Deviance and Sectarianism is the Responsibility of the State and Society


Baghdad: Head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, received Abdul Qadir al-Husseini al-Alousi, Head of the Council of Scholars of the Muhammadan Ribat. They discussed developments on the national scene and the role of religious and intellectual institutions in preserving social cohesion, promoting peaceful coexistence, and confronting deviant ideologies.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, During the meeting, Sheikh Hamoudi emphasized that preserving the Islamic identity of Iraqi society and protecting it from foreign ideas, deviant ideologies, and sectarian and takfiri rhetoric is one of the most important pillars of Iraq’s unity and stability. He clarified that this is not only the responsibility of the state but also of society with its religious, civil, cultural, and media institutions.
