Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that his country’s forces had carried out several powerful and deadly strikes against ISIS in northwestern Nigeria. According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that the strikes were launched at his direction as Commander-in-Chief against ISIS terrorists in northwest Nigeria. The President emphasized that these terrorists had been targeting and killing Christians at unprecedented levels. Trump warned that if the terrorists did not cease their actions, they would face severe consequences, which he claimed were realized through the strikes carried out by the Department of Defense.

US Africa Command elaborated on the operation, stating that the strikes were a clear demonstration of their commitment to eliminating threats to Americans. They described the operation as lethal, underscoring the strength of the US military. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth supported Trump’s stance, reiterating the necessity to end the killing of Christians in Nigeria and beyond.
