Western anbar: The Border Forces Command announced on Sunday the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle 30 kg of narcotics using a balloon in western Anbar.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Border Forces Command indicated that, “Continuing the Border Forces Command’s efforts to prevent the entry of narcotics and psychotropic substances into the country, detachments from the 1st Battalion of the 6th Border Brigade in the 2nd Border Region Command were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic pills weighing more than 30 kg, which were being transported by balloon across the border strip west of Anbar province.”

The statement added that, “An official seizure report was prepared and legal measures were taken.”
