Fugitive Accused of Diyala Family Murder Arrested


Diyala: A force from the Diyala Anti-Crime Department has arrested a fugitive accused of murdering a family of three in the Al-Khalis district in 2023. The Director of Public Relations and Media for the Diyala Police, Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, reported the arrest.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a specialized security team was formed to track down the suspect. Through careful monitoring and intensive investigation, the team determined the suspect’s whereabouts and apprehended him. The suspect confessed to murdering the family, which included a father, mother, and son.



Brigadier General Al-Shammari stated that the necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect, who has been detained in accordance with Article (406) of the Iraqi Penal Code. He emphasized that security forces will continue to pursue perpetrators of crimes, regardless of the time it takes, with a commitment to arresting them and ensuring they face justice. This effort is part of a broader mission to maintain community security and uphold the rule of law.
