Kirkuk: Two commanders from the 1st Brigade of the Peshmerga forces were stranded near the Qarahanjir area northeast of Kirkuk while delivering food to Peshmerga positions in low-lying areas. They had previously ordered their troops to remain due to heavy rains and dangerous roads, prioritizing their safety.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed, Commander of the 1st Regiment, and Lieutenant Colonel Hersh, deputy commander, were en route to deliver food to the lower outposts in Qarahanjir when their vehicle was swept away by floodwaters. Footage shows their lives in danger.
