Basra: The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Iraq, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hassan, praised the level of development witnessed in Basra Governorate on Sunday, emphasizing that its government and people have succeeded in changing the world’s perception of Iraq.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a joint press conference with Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, Al-Hassan stated, “What has been achieved in Basra reflects clear efforts in the areas of reconstruction, stability, and improving public services,” noting that “these achievements have contributed to presenting a positive image of Iraq internationally.”
He further highlighted that “Basra has become a model of progress and joint work between the local government and the community,” affirming “the continued support of the United Nations for efforts aimed at strengthening development and stability in the governorate.”
Al-Hassan arrived in Basra today and met with Governor Asaad Al-Eidani on the occasion of the end of his official duties in Iraq.
