Baghdad: The Joint Operations Command announced on Wednesday that the international coalition forces will completely withdraw from Ain al-Asad Air Base next week. Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, stated in a press conference that one of the priorities of the government program is to complete the mission of ending the presence of the international coalition and to move towards concluding bilateral international memoranda and understandings.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Muhammadawi explained that the borders are secure and the rate of infiltration across the Iraqi borders has reached zero percent. He emphasized that there are currently no coalition personnel within the Joint Operations Command, and Ain al-Asad Air Base will witness a complete withdrawal and handover to the Iraqi security forces next week.
