Najaf: Najaf Friday Sermon Imam Sadr al-Din al-Qubanchi affirmed that the success of the political process in Iraq, represented by the election of the Speaker of Parliament and his two deputies, and the pending election of the President and then the Prime Minister, indicates that matters are proceeding smoothly and successfully, through sound mechanisms. This statement was made during the Najaf Friday sermon.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, speaking on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the two leaders of victory, al-Qubanchi stated, “We enjoy security thanks to the blood of the martyrs. There will be no retreat in our journey, and no anxiety about the future. (God is in control of all things.) Iraq will soon play a role in changing the global landscape.”
In another remark, al-Qubanchi addressed the question of how Iraq is envisioned in 2026. He expressed hopes and prayers to Almighty God that this year will be a turning point for the formation of a government focused on service, reconstruction, and economic recovery. He further noted that coinciding with the birth of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the year is hoped to be pivotal for further progress in the religious path of the Iraqi people, with the permission of Almighty God.
