Baghdad: US President Donald Trump authorized military strikes in Venezuela, according to US officials. The operation received the green light days before it commenced.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro responded by issuing a decree for a state of emergency. He claimed that the capital, Caracas, was under missile attack. Maduro called for an immediate United Nations meeting to address the situation.
