Baghdad: The Military Intelligence Directorate announced the seizure of 140,000 narcotic pills. A statement by the Directorate indicated that its detachments seized over 140,000 narcotic pills that were concealed in balloons equipped with tracking devices. The pills had entered the desert within the area of responsibility of the 5th Infantry Division.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement clarified that the smuggling operation was thwarted and the entire quantity was confiscated.
