Diyala: A force from the Special Tactical Unit arrested one of the fugitive suspects in the murder of a citizen in Al-Abara district of Diyala Governorate three months ago. An arrest warrant had been issued against him under Article (405) of the Penal Code.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Director of Public Relations and Media for the Diyala Police, Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, informed a correspondent that the arrest operation was executed following the formation of a specialized security team. This team relied on meticulous intelligence monitoring, which led to identifying the suspect’s location and his subsequent apprehension.

He further stated that the necessary legal procedures were undertaken against the suspect, preparing him for his appearance before the competent court to receive his just punishment.
