Damascus: The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, a ceasefire on all fronts and a complete cessation of hostilities in all areas of engagement, based on the agreement reached between President Ahmed al-Sharaa and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement that “this measure comes as a prelude to opening safe corridors for the return of residents to their areas and the assumption of state institutions’ functions in serving the citizens.”

The statement added that “the Ministry of Defense has instructed Syrian army personnel to exercise a high degree of trust and responsibility in protecting citizens and safeguarding their property, and in maintaining security and stability in the country.”
