Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of strengthening integration and coordination between the federal government and local administrations to ensure the successful implementation of development plans and the improvement of public services.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani received the newly appointed Governor of Dhi Qar, Haitham Aziz Al-Hamadani, in the presence of Ahmed Al-Fatlawi, Head of the High Commission for Coordination among Governorates.
The statement noted that the meeting reviewed the overall conditions of Dhi Qar Governorate and discussed plans aimed at enhancing its service and development sectors. The talks also addressed the water scarcity crisis affecting the governorate and the necessary measures required to tackle this major challenge.
Additionally, the meeting covered programs and plans designed to activate the tourism sector in Dhi Qar, particularly following the completion of Al-Nasiriyah International Airport, as well as other proposed tourism projects.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for integrated efforts between the federal and local governments in implementing infrastructure and service projects, noting that delivering services and executing projects reflect the level of commitment and responsibility toward citizens.
For his part, the Governor of Dhi Qar expressed his appreciation to the Prime Minister and the federal government for their efforts and plans to advance the governorate’s conditions, affirming his determination to improve its economic and developmental situation in order to enhance the living standards of its residents.
