Baghdad Operations Command Initiates Security Sweep in Baghdad Belt


Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced on Sunday that its units are continuing their security operations, including search and inspection operations and armed reconnaissance, in the outskirts of Baghdad.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated that its units, represented by the 6th and 17th Infantry Divisions and the Commando Brigade, and supported by security forces and intelligence agencies, began their security operations at dawn today in the districts of Tarmiyah, Mahmudiyah, and Abu Ghraib. The operations aim to maintain security in the areas surrounding the capital.



The statement indicated that this comes as part of preserving the security gains achieved, enhancing security and stability, enforcing the law, and preventing anyone who dares to tamper with the security and safety of citizens.
