Tehran: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met today with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Larijani, during his official visit to the Iranian capital, Tehran, to discuss ways to enhance regional stability.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement indicating that the meeting addressed security issues that directly impact the security and stability of the region. The discussions focused on strengthening coordination and cooperation to confront shared security challenges, with the aim of consolidating regional stability.
During the meeting, Larijani provided a presentation covering the most prominent events recently witnessed in Iran, along with developments in the country’s internal situation. Fuad Hussein also reviewed the political process in Iraq, particularly the efforts to form a new government. He emphasized the importance of adhering to constitutional timelines and selecting a government capable of positively engaging with both regional and international communities to address economic and financial challenges.
The Minister highlighted similar economic challenges faced by countries in the region, including Iraq and Iran, and stressed that effectively addressing these challenges requires greater regional stability. He noted that consolidating political stability will contribute to tackling economic problems and enhancing development opportunities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Fuad Hussein affirmed Iraq’s capacity to play a positive and constructive role in supporting regional stability and strengthening regional security.
