Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed that the Iraqi government adopts a balanced approach in its regional and international relations. The National Security Advisory stated in a press release that Al-Araji met today at his office with the Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad, Anil Bora Anan. The meeting addressed prospects for developing bilateral relations in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Araji emphasized the importance of establishing a language of dialogue and peace in the region and working to reduce tension levels. He pointed out that the Iraqi government adopts a balanced approach in its regional and international relations, in line with Iraq’s supreme interests. He stressed the necessity of strengthening joint coordination between Baghdad and Ankara in a way that contributes to supporting regional and international stability and restoring calm in the region.
For his part, Annan expressed his country’s keenness to develop relations with Iraq and expand areas of joint cooperation in a way that achieves the mutual interests of both countries.
