5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Pakistani Capital


Islamabad: An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struck the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on Monday. The earthquake monitoring center reported that the epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, residents of Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Hunza in Diljit-Baltistan province felt the earthquake.



Meanwhile, data from the US Geological Survey reported the earthquake’s magnitude as 5.9 on the Richter scale and its location as 50 kilometers north-northeast of Barichal, at a depth of 35 kilometers.
