Syrian Democratic Forces Withdraw from Al-Hol Camp, Leaving Syrian Army to Assume Control

Hasakah: The Syrian Army announced that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have withdrawn their personnel who were tasked with guarding the al-Hol camp, located east of Hasakah. This development marks a significant shift in the control and management of the camp, which has been a focal point of regional security concerns.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that, alongside their withdrawal, the SDF released individuals who had been detained inside the al-Hol camp. This move has raised questions about the future security and administrative arrangements for the camp, which hosts a complex mix of residents, including displaced persons and families of suspected militants.

The SDF has confirmed that intense clashes are occurring between its forces and factions aligned with Damascus around the vicinity of the camp. These ongoing confrontations highlight the volatile security situation in the region and the potential for further conflict as control over the camp transitions.

In response to the withdrawal, Syrian forces have declared their full readiness to assume responsibility for al-Hol camp. The implications of this takeover are yet to be fully understood, as it may influence the balance of power and humanitarian conditions within the camp.
