Kirkuk: A man has been arrested in Kirkuk for allegedly assaulting and burning his ex-wife with acid. The incident prompted a swift response from local law enforcement.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Kirkuk Police Command reported the arrest took place less than two hours after the attack. The police stated that after receiving reports of a woman admitted to Azadi Teaching Hospital with acid burns, units from Azadi Police Station began investigating the incident.
The police command further explained that an arrest warrant was quickly issued for the suspect. He was apprehended and detained under Article 31/405 of the Iraqi Penal Code. The suspect has been referred to the judiciary for further legal proceedings.
