El arish: A Turkish ship carrying 1,400 tons of humanitarian aid prepared by the Turkish Red Crescent Society for the people of besieged Gaza arrived at the Egyptian port of El Arish today, Sunday. The ship had departed from the port of Mersin in southern Turkey, carrying essential relief supplies to meet urgent needs in Gaza, including food, hygiene products, clothing, blankets, shelter materials, and baby supplies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Sen, was present to receive the ship at the port of El Arish. He stated, “The aid ships sent by the Turkish Red Crescent Society are continuing regularly as planned. This ship is primarily carrying blankets, tents, winter clothing, and hygiene supplies.”
He explained that the specific aid items are determined based on the conditions on the ground and according to lists of needs provided by the Egyptian Red Crescent to the Turkish Red Crescent. Mutlu Sen noted that the ship’s arrival coincided with the transition to the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza. He indicated that the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the Turkish Red Crescent will continue to send more aid ships carrying relief, medical, and food supplies in the coming weeks.
The Turkish Ambassador expressed his hope that opening the Rafah crossing from both sides will expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid, emphasizing that Turkey is ready to support Gaza at all stages. Mutlu Sen highlighted the strong cooperation with the Egyptian authorities and the Egyptian Red Crescent to ensure the swift, effective, and high-quality delivery of aid. He affirmed that Turkey will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza.
