Coordination Framework Reaffirms Support for Al-Maliki’s Premiership Bid


Baghdad: The Coordination Framework reaffirmed on Saturday its commitment to nominating Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, to form the new government. The group emphasized that the choice of Prime Minister is an Iraqi constitutional matter, carried out in line with the political process mechanisms, while considering national interests and remaining free from external influences.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Coordination Framework reiterated its support for Nouri al-Maliki as their candidate for the premiership. The coalition highlighted its commitment to fostering balanced international relations, particularly with key global powers, on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference in national affairs.



The Coordination Framework further stated that Iraq, as a state of institutions, is fully capable of managing its political responsibilities in accordance with the constitution and the will of its people’s representatives. It also underscored the necessity of adhering to constitutional timelines and urged all involved parties to make every effort to find solutions that are acceptable to all stakeholders.
