Karbala: Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari arrived in the holy city of Karbala on Tuesday, accompanied by a number of senior ministry officers, to review the security and logistical plan for the Mid-Sha’ban Visit. The minister was received by Lieutenant General Ali al-Hashemi, commander of Karbala Operations Command for the Ground Forces, and Major General Ahmed al-Zarini, the provincial police chief.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the minister chaired a meeting with security sector commanders and officers to assess their readiness as the Visit approaches.
