Erdogan and Saudi Crown Prince Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Issues


Riyadh: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on bilateral relations and key regional and international issues, including the Syrian and Gaza files. The meeting took place during Erdogan’s visit to Riyadh, as reported by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions encompassed cooperation in various sectors such as energy, defense industries, investments, trade, and technology. President Erdogan expressed Turkey’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in renewable energy and defense industries.



Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s support for rebuilding efforts in Gaza and the pursuit of lasting peace in Palestine. He highlighted the necessity of addressing the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, Erdogan emphasized the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity, noting its benefits for the region. He assured continued Turkish support for Syria’s stability and mentioned collaboration with Riyadh on Syria’s reconstruction.



The meeting also covered developments in Yemen and East Africa. The Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications announced that Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed four agreements during the meeting, with a joint statement to be issued later. Erdogan’s visit to Riyadh is part of a broader tour that includes a stop in Cairo.
