Riyadh: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan departed for Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday morning for a one-day official visit to the Kingdom, after which he will travel to Cairo. Erdogan is accompanied by several key ministers, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, and Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler, among others.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the visit will address a number of regional issues, including developments in Palestine, particularly the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Discussions will also cover the “Board of Peace,” the Syrian crisis, and areas of bilateral cooperation in the economic and investment sectors.
Erdogan’s new tour focuses on peace, regional stability, and bilateral cooperation amidst rapid changes in the region, giving the two visits particular importance to bilateral relations and strengthening Turkey’s position in regional power dynamics. Erdogan is scheduled to travel to Egypt on Wednesday, following his visit to Saudi Arabia.
