Dubai: Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held a meeting today with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the regional government indicated that the meeting included an exchange of views on the general situation in Iraq and a discussion of the ongoing efforts and dialogues to elect a president and form a new federal government.

The latest developments in Syria were also a focus of the meeting. Emphasis was placed on the need to maintain security and stability, adopt peaceful solutions to address disputes and problems, and ensure respect for the rights of the Kurdish people along with all other Syrian communities.
