Erbil: French Foreign Minister Jean-No«l Barrault affirmed that “Kurdish rights are protected in Iraq, and must be so in Syria.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the French Minister made this statement during a joint press conference with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani in Erbil. Barrault expressed gratitude to President Barzani for his significant role in fostering peace in Syria, emphasizing that the Kurds should have a stake in Syria’s future.

Barrault also addressed the situation in Iran, particularly the suppression of protesters, stating that France would not remain passive if the Kurdistan Region faced threats, underscoring its importance to France.
