Khalid Jassim Leads in Preliminary Results of Iraqi Journalists Syndicate Elections


Baghdad: The National Iraqi News Agency has released the preliminary results of the elections for the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, which were recorded as of 12:30 PM today. The elections are seeing significant interest as various positions within the syndicate are highly contested.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Khalid Jassim is currently leading the race for the position of Syndicate Head with 1139 votes, followed by Muhammad Hannoun, who has accumulated 514 votes. This indicates a strong lead for Jassim in the initial stages of the election process.



For the position of Deputy Syndicate Head, Mu’ayyad Al-Lami is leading with 1225 votes, while Jabbar Tarad is in the second position with 930 votes. Ali Awaid and Qusay Shafiq have secured 494 and 234 votes, respectively, as they trail behind the top two candidates.



The competition for the Members of the Syndicate Council is also fierce. Hassan Al-Aboudi currently leads with 988 votes, followed by Rasoul Al-Faza’ with 791 votes. Zahra Al-Jubouri has garnered 778 votes, and Hadi Jalu has received 632 votes. Other notable contenders include Muhammad Salam with 615 votes, Nazim Al-Rubaie with 609 votes, and Adnan Lafteh with 453 votes. The list continues with Jaafar Al-Aidi at 451 votes, Ahmed Al-Alouji with 450 votes, Raad Al-Mashhadani with 397 votes, and Alaa Al-Hattab securing 381 votes.



The results provide insight into the preferences of the voting members of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate as they choose their representatives.
