Khalid Jassim Elected as Head of Iraqi Journalists Syndicate


Baghdad: The National Iraqi News Agency reports the results of the 23rd session of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate elections, which concluded this Saturday afternoon. Khalid Jassim was elected as the Syndicate Head, receiving 1,174 votes, while his closest competitor, Muhammad Hannoun, garnered 544 votes.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, in the race for Deputy Syndicate Head, Mu’ayyad Al-Lami secured the position with 1,291 votes. Other candidates included Jabbar Tarad with 981 votes, Ali Awaid with 527 votes, and Qusay Shafiq with 248 votes.



The elections also determined the Members of the Syndicate Council. Hassan Al-Aboudi led with 1,044 votes, followed by Rasoul Al-Faza’ with 834 votes and Zahra Al-Jubouri with 822 votes. Other elected members include Hadi Jalu with 672 votes, Muhammad Salam with 645 votes, Nazim Al-Rubaie with 637 votes, Adnan Lafteh with 488 votes, Ahmed Al-Alouji with 472 votes, Alaa Al-Hattab with 429 votes, Raad Al-Mashhadani with 413 votes, and Jaafar Al-Aidi with 467 votes.
